The list stops being a tribal Amass deck and becomes a Grixis control deck with an Army subtheme: Toxic Deluge and Damnation reset boards you cannot race, Necropotence and The One Ring convert life and time into cards, and Vampiric Tutor plus Force of Negation give the consistency and protection to actually resolve Sauron. Archon of Cruelty and Gonti provide value bodies that win the long game the wheel sets up. Ancient Tomb, Polluted Delta, Bloodstained Mire and Urborg complete a real three-colour manabase. Strengths: it can play control or race, and the draw engine works from turn three. Weaknesses: the commander still costs six, so a dedicated combo table will be faster. Target level: optimized, WotC Bracket 4.
